For the first official Takeover Thursday of 2015, we had the pleasure of welcoming Liz Elder of Reed Education to the Supply Teacher Network. Reed Education place teachers and support staff across the key stages in school around the country. In fact, this year sees big expansion plans for this specialist department of Reed. Liz took time to point out a common confusion that many people may have about Reed Education and the Reed jobs website: they're all part of the Reed group, but are separate companies. Reed Education is made up of specialist consultants, who focus exclusively on the education sector in their local area, so have relationships with hundreds of schools, and loads of expertise in the options and opportunities available to you, whatever you're looking for.
Liz asked the group for their top tips for NQTs, what CPD they would like to undertake through their agency, and if they feel comfortable raising concerns with their agency. Many supply teachers would rather ask the group first, or sweep concerns under the carpet until they grow too big to hide anymore, so Liz wanted to know what their agency could do to help ease the process.
