First Class Supply, one of the fastest growing independent supply teaching agencies in the North East are delighted to have raised over £11,00 from their charity fundraiser in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust!
So far £11,037.15 has been raised from the event, which took place at Club 206 at St James' Park on 11th July, to mark First Class Supply’s tenth anniversary in business.
Highlights included football legend Bob Moncur, who gave Newcastle United fans the coveted opportunity to be photographed with The Fairs Cup, the historic last piece of silverware to be won by the club.
Auction and raffle prizes at the fundraiser ranged from rare Newcastle United memorabilia and meet and greets with Joan Rivers, Alfie Boe and Ross Noble, a tour of the BBC studios with hotel stay, ipads, and a scuba diving course to name just a few, with all money raised going directly to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Bob Moncur said: “I am delighted to support the Teenage Cancer Trust as it’s such a fantastic cause - one that is particularly close to my heart, having had two bouts of cancer myself. I was lucky enough to have great treatment and it’s vital that anyone diagnosed gets the same”.
Louise Miles, regional fundraising manager for the North East and Cumbria at Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “A lot of hard work had gone into the event, and I am so pleased that everyone enjoyed themselves in what was such a successful occasion. We are very grateful for the money raised, which will go towards supporting young people with cancer in the region, and I would like to thank First Class Supply for its support.”
First Class Supply is a supporter of a number of local and national charities and has close ties with the Teenage Cancer Trust, after sponsoring its North East ambassador, Joe McElderry, and his team of cyclists when they took part in a Coast to Coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to South Shields for the charity last year.
Lesley Robinson, director of First Class Supply, said: “It was an amazing event, and the perfect way to celebrate our tenth anniversary! The Teenage Cancer Trust is a great cause and we were delighted to have been involved with them again, especially to mark such an important milestone for First Class Supply.
“The evening’s entertainment was fantastic, and we are so grateful to Bob for lending his support and giving Newcastle United fans the opportunity to pose with the Fairs Cup and one of the club’s greatest captains!”
She added: "I would like to thank everyone who attended and who made our anniversary celebrations such an unforgettable occasion, as well as those who very generously donated auction or raffle prizes and all of our candidates and partner schools who have loyally supported us during the last decade.
