We supported National Supply Teacher Week to celebrate our teachers, they are at the core of everything we do, we feel that it is really important that Supply Teachers are recognised for all of the hard, and sometimes, very challenging work that they do. It’s never easy walking into a new workplace and some of our teachers are doing this on a daily basis. We want everyone to know what resilient, hard working and dedicated people our Teachers are. We feel that Supply Teachers are, quite often, mistreated, underpaid and undervalued and we always make sure that this is not the case for anyone that comes to work with us. We work closely with our Teachers and schools to ensure that everyone is happy and we feel that this is how it should always be.
Meridian Education on why they believed it was important to support National Supply Teacher Week:
'At Meridian Education we mould our business around the teachers that work for us. Our staff are experienced consultants but also qualified teachers in both the Primary & Secondary school sector. We understand the trials and tribulations of being a supply teacher as we have been there ourselves.'
For National Supply Teacher Week only, Teaching Personnel offered all of our registered supply teachers a huge 25% discount off school rewards stickers.
We love our supply teachers, they are the heart and soul of what we do. Which is why we celebrated them in the first annual National Supply Week which took place on 17th – 21st June 2013.
We understand supply teachers can sometimes not get the credit they deserve for the role they play in children’s education which is why we are looking forward to taking this opportunity to say thank you to our teachers. Smart offers continuing professional development in order to support our supply teachers, provide information to those considering supply teaching as a career move, help schools work with supply teachers more efficiently and much more.
Here at Protocol Education we believe that supply teachers and support workers should be RESPECTED, APPRECIATED and ADMIRED for the important part they play in a child’s education. We also know that although Supply Teaching is an excellent way to make valuable connections, gain experience and further your career, it can sometimes feel a little bit isolating.
We value the hard work you do and to prove it, here is what we are did for YOU during National Supply Teacher Week:
The prizes were wrapped, branch nominations were sent in and Protocol Education was ready for the first ever National Supply Teacher Week.
Outstanding daily candidates from across the company won an “Everyday Hero Award” and some great prizes. One was announced every day and believe me, the competition was stiff!
12 of London’s top long-term candidates were invited to TCR on the Thursday evening to enjoy a free massage or treatment on us.
Our first winner was Nicola Nel. Read what she loves about supply teaching.
The regional branches got into the spirit - Bristol took the initiative and got their schools involved, asking their contacts to decide which of their supply staff should be nominated, Leicester held a drinks event to celebrate with their candidates (photos below!) and Newcastle took their long-terms to lunch!
Delicious cupcakes were on offer too - made by our lovely payroll manager Sam.
It’s the week of the year that we get to give back to the people who make our jobs a little bit easier by going the extra mile (often literally!) and we didn't hold back...
