Step Teachers was proud to champion supply teachers everywhere and pledged its support to the first National Supply Teacher Week!
Teachers should be respected and valued and their role in society is without doubt one of the most significant. We all know what an impact good teachers can have. So let’s be proud of what we do and work together to promote the teaching profession and encourage the development of our teachers to raise further the standard of education in our country and help better the lives of future generations.
I wanted to study history at university and become a History Teacher largely due to my GCSE History Teacher. Our class teacher was on maternity leave so looking back it appears Mrs Dove was with us on long-term supply. No one in my family had ever been to university let alone become a teacher but such was the impact Mrs Dove had on me that I was motivated to hit the books and follow in her footsteps. After my parents she was fundamental in helping me get to where I am today. I’m sure every child has a story to tell about their favourite teacher and the impact they had in shaping their lives.
On behalf of everyone at Step Teachers, I would like to thank every supply teacher for their hard work and passion for transforming the lives of the children they teach!
